Interested in combining a public transport pass and working from home more often?
For the time being, many people will work from home more than they used to. People who don't travel as often as they used to don't get their money's worth from a public transport pass. After all, the monthly costs for the pass remain the same. In such cases, paying for each individual trip could be cheaper.
If you have a public transport pass, you may want to consider cancelling permanently or temporarily. This is especially relevant for people who now travel much less than they previously did. Please note: there are many different subscriptions – each with their own pros and cons – so make sure you check what would be best for you based on the links below.
To see whether changing your NS subscription would benefit you, please visit the website of the NS. For example, you could switch to NS Flex. This would give you the benefit of paying retrospectively, while still paying the regular rate per journey. Additionally, NS has announced that it will introduce new subscriptions after summer that are better suited to remote working.
We recommend that you study the conditions of your Arriva subscription. To access those conditions go to the website of Arriva (only available in Dutch). If you cancel your subscription, you will usually be reimbursed for a portion of your subscription fees for the months that were left on your subscription. Please note that a notice period applies and that administration costs are charged for annual subscriptions. If you want to cancel your subscription, then use the online contact form and select the ‘restitutieverzoek’ (request for reimbursement) option.
