Use the smart tyre pump at P+R Maastricht Noord

On 20 September, we installed a smart tyre pump at P+R Maastricht Noord. This smart pump means that you can inflate your car tyres to the right pressure at any time during the day. The smart tyre pump was used 127 times in recent months. This resulted in a total reduction in fuel consumption of 761 litres and a three-tonne reduction in CO2 emissions. Ensuring your car has the correct tyre pressure makes driving safer, more fuel-efficient, and quieter.

Alongside installing a smart tyre pump at P+R Maastricht Noord, Zuid-Limburg Bereikbaar and the Stichting Band op Spanning foundation started organizing campaigns at the end of 2018 to set the tyres to the right pressure on hundreds of cars of employees at several organizations. A number of campaigns were also hosted at P+R Maastricht Noord. The smart tyre pump is free and easy to use and immediately shows you your fuel savings. This tyre pump means that every visitor or commuter who parks at P+R Maastricht Noord or passes through that area can ensure that their car tyres are at the right pressure.

How does the smart tyre pump work?

The smart tyre pump is easy to use for everyone. Simply enter your license plate number or enter the correct tyre pressure on the screen. The smart tyre pump will then let you get started and show what you will save on fuel and CO2 emissions with the correct tyre pressure. The smart tyre pump will also tell you whether you might have a punctured tyre or defective valve. We recommend that you check your car's tyre pressure at least every two months.
