Want to have a test ride on an electric bicycle? Here are the options at a glance!

Bicycles are extremely popular because they are both sustainable and are a healthy and safe way to get from point A to point B – especially in times of coronavirus. Increasing numbers of people are opting for an e-bike. Close to one fifth of all bicycle rides are now on electric bicycles (Parool, October 2020). If you would like to try out an e-bike, then reserve an electric bike, speed pedelec, or e-cargo bike for a free trial week via Zuid-Limburg Bereikbaar.

How does it work?

If you live or work in South Limburg, you can try out an e-bike for one week, free of charge, via ‘Ontdek de e-bike’ (Discover the e-bike) to experience the benefits of e-bikes. This can be arranged in several ways, which we have listed for you.

Via the distribution point in Valkenburg

At any time of the year, you can collect a bicycle from Cycle Center in Valkenburg. Choose a week to test the e-bike. Collect and return the e-bike at the Cycle Center distribution point in Valkenburg (the trial period is from Thursday to the following Thursday). Leeuwhof 21 in Valkenburg will then be your starting point for a cycle through the Heuvelland (Limburg Hill Country). Visit maakdebeweging.nl to reserve your e-bike.

At places of work

If you work for a partner of Zuid-Limburg Bereikbaar, you can reserve an e-bike during the period when the e-bikes are available at your place of work. This means that you can cycle it straight home from work! Check maakdebeweging.nl to see when the e-bikes will be delivered to your employer.

On location - December 3rd in Sittard

Zuid-Limburg Bereikbaar regularly organizes the distribution of e-bikes at a number of locations in South Limburg. This means that you can collect an e-bike, speed pedelec, or e-cargo bike at a location near you. After a free two-week trial, you must return your bike to the same location. This is how we make it as easy as possible for everyone to try an e-bike. On December 3rd you can try an e-bike for two weeks at Stienen Tweewielers. See maakdebeweging.nl for more infomation.

Via a bicycle dealer – Maastricht – Sittard-Geleen

As of 1 August, you can try an electric bike for free for a period of six days via a local bicycle dealer. You then collect the electric bike at one of the participating bicycle dealers: The Giant Store in Sittard and bicycle dealer De Beente in Maastricht. Bicycles can be collected on Thursdays and must be returned on the following Wednesday. For more information, visit maakdebeweging.nl.
