OV-fiets in Limburg

At various stations in Limburg, you can find public bicycles (OV-fietsen) to move to and from the station. You can locate the bicycles in a bike locker or rent them at the bike storage area. They make it easy for you to travel from door to door, whether it's for the last segment of your journey or for getting to an appointment.

Practical information

    • Rent by personal OV-chipkaart. In order to use a bike, you must have a season ticket. You can easily arrange this free season ticket online, and link it to your OV-chipkaart. 
    • Using an OV-fiets costs € 4.55 per 24 hours. For longer use of the OV-fiets, you pay an additional rental period (up to a maximum of 72 hours). After 72 hours you pay an extra € 5,- every 24 hours. Returning OV bike at other than original rental location costs € 10.00.

  • Since January 13, 2023, thirty electric ov-bikes have been offered for rent to train passengers at Maastricht station. 

    The NS is conducting a trial and investigating whether the e-bike meets the needs of travelers and is a good addition to the rental of the regular ov bike. 

    • You rent using your personal OV-chip card. You can add the OV-fiets subscription to it for free.
    • The cost of renting an e-bike? € 13.00 per time (per 24 hours). After 72 hours you pay an extra € 5,- every 24 hours.
    • The speed? With a charged battery you can cycle up to 110 kilometers on the so-called eco-support mode. The bikes can go up to 25 kilometers per hour and you charge the batteries with 100 percent green electricity, according to the NS.
